Abstract

Mosques play a strategic role in shaping Islamic civilization, not only as places of worship but also as centers for community religious education and literacy. However, in many rural areas, the educational function of mosques remains underutilized. This community service program aims to strengthen the role of the General Sudirman Mosque in Ngindeng Village as a community-based religious education center. The Participatory Action Research (PAR) method employed involved mosque administrators, TPQ teachers, mosque youth, and congregation members actively in problem identification, training, and the development of religious literacy modules. The results showed a significant 40.9% increase in the congregation's religious understanding, as well as an increase in structured mosque-based educational activities. This activity not only improved religious literacy but also built a collaborative and sustainable learning ecosystem within the mosque environment. This model can be replicated in other mosques with adjustments to local community needs.
